Documentary soundtrack (10/9/11) The Finest Kind with Erin Ivey recorded the soundtrack to Andrew Shapter's new documentary, The Teller and the Truth, at EAR Studio in Austin yesterday, improvising music to the Director's explanations of the scenes and moods. It was a magical session. I cannot wait to see and hear this movie!

New compilation album (8/16/11) I am honored to be featured on the forthcoming album Dark River: Songs of the Civil War Era singing "Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier" with Chuck Pinnell on guitar and Brian Standefer on cello. Other contributors include Jon Dee Graham, Slaid Cleaves, James McMurtry, Eliza Gilkyson, Jimmy LaFave, Jeff Plankenhorn, and Warren Hood. The album is due out Tuesday, September 13.

Recording in the Stoneleigh Penthouse (4/2/05) With the help of Rumblefish CEO Paul Anthony, Erin is producing a new track in the penthouse of the Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas. Built in 1923, the hotel's trap doors, secret passageways, sliding mirrors, and hidden rooms enhance the atmosphere of the track, a prison folk song from the turn of the 20th century.

Dallas Music Labs (3/20/05) Erin has been selected to attend a five-day music production workshop with producers Lorin Ashton and Craig Russo. Erin is one of ten participants selected from the southwest US.
